Career Readiness Starts Today

accentimage

Today’s economy requires graduates to be more competitive than ever to navigate viable career pathways and employment opportunities. Faculty members have established and maintained valuable contacts in their respective fields and with our strong network of alumni, JCSU gives graduates a competitive advantage over the competition.

At least 96% of JCSU seniors discuss career plans with faculty on an on-going basis.

The JCSU career development and postgraduate readiness staff understands the importance of setting a gold standard or benchmark for professionalism. Students must be prepared and knowledgeable of the pitfalls as they navigate their career journey. We care about your success — not just during your time as a student here, but in the years beyond as you pursue a career or postgraduate studies. Our faculty and professional staff can help make that happen.

All graduates are expected to participate in experiential learning opportunities, gain work experience, and create professional connections before they graduate. Our staff will assist students in creating meaningful relationships, connections and building a strong business acumen to excel in any workplace scenario.

Currently, 85% of all seniors have participated in some form of practicum, internship, field experience, or clinical assignment. And we anticipate that percentage to grow with every passing year.

The Smith Institute for Research, Career Development, and Postgraduate Readiness is committed to educating, preparing, and connecting students to opportunities that will equip you to compete in the 21st Century.

“The director of the Smith Tech Innovation Center told me American Airlines was coming to our campus actively looking to hire students. We put together a plan and every day for weeks I would start taking on projects that enhanced my skills in preparation for the interview. When I learned that I got the job, I felt as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I was more than grateful for the opportunity.â€
