Chi-Emeke Worthington is a 21-year coaching veteran and JCSU Alum class of 2004. Coach Worthington re-joined the JCSU Football staff for his second stint as its Co-Defensive Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive backs coach in March 2022 after spending two seasons (2020-22) as Defensive Backs Coach and Academic Coordinator at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He has also had coaching stops at Walsh University, Ouachita Baptist, Bethel College, Marian University as well as the University of Iowa.

Coach Worthington transitioned to a new role as Student Success Coach for Athletics in June of 2023, in addition to his duties with football. As a Student Success Coach, Coach Worthington has a caseload of 140 Student-Athletes in multiple sports. In this role he is charged with providing students with resources necessary for their overall success on their road to graduation at JCSU. Since the Student Success and Student-Athlete Success initiative launched in 2023, the Football Program has made a drastic increase in GPA to a 3.07 team GPA. Coach Worthington has been a Co-Presenter at two conferences in 2024, the UNITE UNFC Conference and the NACADA Conference.

In 2024, Worthington helped JCSU Football to its’ first top-25 National Ranking in School history, climbing as high as #16 in the Nation. JCSU’s Defense is currently #10 in the Nation in Scoring Defense and # 9 in Total Defense in the Nation, tied for #7 in the Nation in 3rd Down Defense, 7th in 4th Down Defense, #3 in First Down Defense, #10 in Red Zone Defense, and #9 in Rushing Defense. The Golden Bulls also are #12 in the Nation in Blocked Kicks.
