Dr. Thanh-Thuy Nguyen is an assistant professor of mathematics at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ. Her educational background started at UNC Charlotte, earning both a Bachelor's and Master of Science in General Mathematics. She later earned her Doctorate in Education at Gardner Webb University, concentrating in Curriculum and Instruction. She has been exposed to higher education classroom settings and is experienced in instructing introductory to higher-level math. Throughout her years as a professor at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ, she is often recognized for her student-centered teaching approach. Dr. Nguyen has earned the 2013 Sit Lux Award for receiving the highest student course evaluation scores. She has also received the Rising Star Award in recognition of her inaugural success with proposal development during the academic year 2022. She is the faculty advisor for two NASA Minds grants with students majoring in Computer Engineering and Chemistry in 2022 and 2025. Her research interests include the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, The Connection between Mathematics and Chemistry, and the Impact of Blended Methods on Mathematics Courses.
