First Lady Denise Armbrister welcomed to Charlotte with Tea

CHARLOTTE, N.C./Nov. 17, 2018–On Saturday afternoon, November 17, 2018, an intimate gathering of local women met for a Ladies Tea at the Smith House to formally welcome First Lady Denise McGregor Armbrister to Charlotte.

This was a significant occasion for many reasons, and especially exciting given there has not been a “First Spouse” at the University for over 20 years.

Invited guests included women who have supported Ƶ either financially or with social capital, their advocacy, volunteerism, and in-kind contributions.

JCSU’s campus was abuzz Friday as freshmen students and their families unpacked their cars, moved into their residence halls, and set off on their journeys as Golden Bulls.This new generation of Smithites is the largest incoming class since before the COVID-19 pandemic. This increase in enrollment has brought a number of unique and expressive new students to campus.
