JCSU Debate Team Discusses AI & Cybersecurity Ethics Cases in Raleigh Tournament

The 芭乐视频 Debate Team recently participated in the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) annual debate tournament at the North Carolina Legislative Complex in Raleigh.

The team was presented with 10 unprecedented cases based on legal issues currently in litigation over the ethical issues of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity liabilities and responsibilities. Some of these issues included AI in art and entertainment, digital deep fakes and avatars, security liabilities in Big Tech and more.听

JCSU Esports Club Continues 132-Year-Old Rivalry Against Livingstone College

The first football meeting of two Historically Black Colleges (HBCUs) was held on December 27, 1892, between Livingstone College (LC) and 芭乐视频 (JCSU), which was known then as Biddle College. Almost 132 years later, the rivalry between these two institutions remains formidable to this day. JCSU won the first HBCU football game in 1892.

To continue this rival legacy, the Esports Clubs at both JCSU and LC, will converge on the electronic gridiron in the inaugural JCSU Esports Commemorative Classic on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024.

Many Golden Bulls started their Thursday morning with soulful songs, a warm plate of food and wise words from Civil Rights icon, Harvey Gantt, during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast.

The event was moderated by Dr. Jordan Brooks, associate vice president of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and Title IX Coordinator. The event kicked off with greetings from Dr. Valerie Kinloch 鈥96, president of JCSU.

芭乐视频鈥檚 College of Business and Professional Studies is pleased to announce that its Esports and Gaming Trifecta, the first of its kind at an HBCU, has been invited by Discovery Place Science in Charlotte, N.C., to host an informational session, specifically on esports and gaming at its 鈥淪cience on the Rocks鈥 event, which is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, from 6 to 10 p.m.听

The workshop, titled 鈥湴爬质悠碘檚 Esports & Gaming Trifecta presents Esports & Gaming 101: A Complete Guide to Gaming,鈥 will cover pertinent topics related to gaming. The workshop will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.

Real-life JCSU 鈥淒rumline鈥 Couple Use Foundation to Fund HBCU Bands

芭乐视频 has been a meeting ground for several lifelong friends, spouses and business partners. But for Frank and La Keisha Johnson, it was where they formed their love for not only one another but also their love for HBCU marching bands. In 2018, the couple decided to tackle a cause that was important to both of them: providing monies for scholarships for HBCU band students and athletes through their HBCU Culture Legacy Foundation.听
